Tirukkuṟaḷ, by Sage Tiruvaḷḷuvar, is studied from a new revolutionary angle. The author citing extensively, from Sanskrit Dharma Śāstras, Artha Śāstra, Nāṭya Śāstra and Kāma Śāstra proves that Tirukkuṟaḷ is a derivative book of the Hindu Vedic tradition. Vaḷḷuvar writes his work on the fundamental basis of Hindu thoughts such as the four puruṣārthasdharma, artha, kāma, and mokṣa. The first three called trivarga are one unit, and his text is divided as Aṟam, Poruḷ, and Kāmam. He has based his text on the four varṇa system as Brāhmaṇa (Antaṇaṉ), Kṣatriyas (Arasaṉ), Vaiśya (Vaṇikaṉ) and Śūdra (Veḷḷāḷaṉ) whose lifestyle and discipline he writes in many Kuṟaḷs. He writes on the fourfold Āśramas as Brahmachāri, Gṛhasta, Vānaprastha and Sanyāsin in the first book Aṟattuppāl. He writes on the daily tarpaṇas to Deva, Ṟṣi, and Pitṛs. He also writes about the regular daily performance of pañca-mahā-yajñas to Devas, Ṛṣis, Pitṛs, Atithi, and Bhūtas.
