Tamilnadu village list of inscriptions posted here by the Tamil Arts Academy is an aid to know whether any inscription has been copied from a particular village in Tamilnad. The list is arranged District wise and the villages in alphabetic order. The first column is village list . The second is the Taluk and the third is District. The fourth column giving the year is the year in which the summaries of the inscriptions were published in the Annual Report on Epigraphy published by the Government Epigraphist for India. These Reports are called ARE (Annual Report on Epigraphy). The last gives the number of the inscription from that village listed. The list will give you the number and the year of the Report where you can get the summary.
