Dedicated to
Parvathi Nagaswamy
This Journal is dedicated to the memory of Parvathi Nagaswamy who
stepped into heaven at the age of 60 on Aug 22nd 1999. Parvathi was a
keen student of Sanskrit and Tamil literature and was a talented
musician. She was deeply devoted to Tevaram, Divya prabhandam,
Thirupukaz, Lalitha sahasranamam, Thyagaraja's kirtanas and other
classical compositions. Parvathi set to music most of the songs for
my dance dramas, directed and sang for the dances which were staged in
different parts of the world like Germany, England, USA, Canada and
other places. She has given concerts in All India radio and BBC. She
was an enlightned critic of fine arts. The audio presented here was
recorded in 1984 when Parvati tuned the invocatory song of my dance
drama Rajarajavijayam, with out instrumental support.
